Note: Enter in the door to the left of where the window was.
We will continue cleaning the glass of the main sign panel. Mike Winters, a stained-glass artisan from Great Falls, will provide guidance.
Subsequent sessions will be held on Mondays from 10 to 6. You can sign up for whatever amount of time you can devote to the project. (In the future, we may be able to meet on other days, but that is not yet confirmed.)
The project will probably go on throughout the Summer and maybe into Fall.
Wear old clothes and/or an apron.
Bring work gloves and/or waterproof, rubber gloves if you like.
We will supply some brushes, cleaner and rags, but if you have a favorite brush or want to donate rags, please feel free to bring them along. (No wire brushes.)
We will be using cleaning products such as Simple Green, Lysol All-Purpose Cleaner, and 409.
Once we begin re-assembling the window, we will be using glass cutters, grinders, soldering irons, and tin/lead solder.
You will need to sign in and out when you volunteer. We have a Montana History Foundation grant that requires a match of volunteer hours, so it is important to track these hours.
If you know someone who might like to join us, please let them know about the project.
