Historic Properties for Sale in Butte

If you find this information useful, please consider joining CPR!

Listing Policy: We will list advertisements for sale by or represented by members of historically appropriate properties on our website. Members can list properties they own for no fee. Those ads can post one or two photos with a brief description and contact information.

For a cost of $30 for two months or $60 for six months, owners or agents (one of whom must be a member of Butte CPR) can post up to five color photos, full contact information for the owner or agent, including name, company affiliation (if applicable), phone/fax/email and link to your website, and text that describes the property. To verify that an owner or agent is a current CPR member, check the online directory.

The board may also list distressed properties (whether they are for sale or not) at its discretion, to encourage caring owners to help preserve them.

The procedure for the paid listings is to get payment to the Treasurer and send the information for the listing to the webmaster.

We also regularly provide access to developers' packets for properties offered by Butte-Silver Bow City/County - Contact Dori Skrukrud, BSB, for more information at 406-497-6469

Gustav Stickley Craftsman

Gustav Stickley Craftsman

Designed by internationally renowned architect Gustav Stickley, a pioneer of the Arts and Crafts Movement in America, this home is one of the most historically significant in Butte. Enjoy the commanding views from the expansive front porch and upper balcony of this impressive Craftsman home. An open floor plan complements this home's uniquely crafted hardwood floors, unpainted woodwork and fireplace made of native stone. Rooms are large with an elegant living room/dining room and an additional great room. The full basement offers lots of finished storage. Mature landscaping graces a fenced backyard and quaint patio space. The home also features a detached two-car, tandem garage with RV door and an enclosed hot tub. Located at the end of a quiet street on a huge lot, the property is close to Montana Tech, hiking trails on Big Butte and John F. Kennedy Elementary.

This home is also easier to buy because it provides income that can help you qualify for, and pay off, your loan via a detached 500 sq.ft. urban loft-like guest house. Newly remodeled in 2008, the guest house features one bed, one bath, separate sleeping loft, w/d and a new, full kitchen with dishwasher. Separately metered with a good rental history, it's a great income producer or could be used as a workshop, craft-room or mother-in-law suite.
