Butte Realtors and Butte CPR Partner for Uptown Building Improvement
For the third year in a row, the Butte Board of Realtors has partnered with Butte Citizens for Preservation and Revitalization to sponsor one of this year's Historic Improvement Project grants. Butte Realtors' generous donation of $500 will underwrite one of the grants awarded in 2006.

For the past ten years Butte CPR has awarded two to four $500 grants earmarked for facade improvements of historic homes or businesses. In the past, these grants were funded solely by Butte CPR, using monies raised through dues, donations, and fundraisers. In 2004 and 2005 Butte Realtors stepped forward as a critical community partner in this building improvement effort. For 2006, the Butte Realtors voted once again to present Butte CPR with a $500 check.
Butte CPR is a non-profit organization whose programs are all handled by volunteers. Its Historic Improvement Project (HIP) grant program, one of those volunteer efforts, has helped owners in the Uptown area paint their buildings, rebuild porches and front steps, repoint brickwork, and in one case rebuild a failing stone retaining wall. In several instances, the grant has facilitated these improvements which owners might otherwise have been unable to afford in the short-term.
Recipients of 2005 $500 Building Improvement Fund grants were the Wolds (Diamond St.); the Waddells (East Mercury St.); and Mike Byrnes (the Stephens Block, West Park St.). The Stephens Block award was sponsored by Butte Realtors.
Butte CPR members are thrilled with the Butte Realtors' donation to its popular HIP program. The group hopes that others interested in the architectural beauty and promise of Uptown Butte will consider the generosity of the Butte Realtors and step forward to partner with Butte CPR on HIP grants in 2006 and beyond. Their contributions have gone a long way toward the $17,000 in total support provided by CPR since 1997. Previous Awardees
