Thanks to all participants and volunteers for making the 2006 tour a huge success! See you next year!

Butte Citizens for Preservation and Revitalization Inc. (Butte CPR) is presenting the second Dust to Dazzle Renovation Home Tour on Saturday, July 1, 2006, from Noon to 5:00 p.m. with a summer tea afterwards (2:00 to 6:00). Designed to showcase recent and on-going residential renovation projects in Butte's historic district, the tour will provide an opportunity to view six historic structures in varying stages of renovation. Buildings on the tour will include a miner's cottage, two single-family homes, two remodeled apartment buildings, and an historic uptown hotel. The tour can be started at any of the six venues and followed in any sequence - and plan to end up at the summer tea party. Tickets are $12.50 each, or two for $20.00, including the tea.

The summer tea party, arranged and decorated by Bob Benson of Absolute Estates Liquidation, with desserts by the Uptown Café, will be held at the First Church of Christ Scientist, North Montana Street at Quartz. This will be an opportunity for tour visitors to share their thoughts over fine tea, hors d'oeuvres and desserts.

Owners will be on hand at each home to speak with tour attendees, together with Butte CPR volunteers serving as guides and information providers. The owners and guides will explain the renovation process, problems encountered, and owners' motivation for building purchase and repair. A short history of each building and its National Register significance will be available as well.

The tour is sponsored in part by area vendors whose products and services have been used in these projects. These vendors will be set up in the tour homes, so they can explain their products and services. They will also be able to answer questions and discuss costs. In addition state and local historic preservation organizations will be represented.

Tickets are $12.50 each, or two for $20.00. Cost includes a summer tea, following the tour and open from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the First Church of Christ Scientist (North Montana at Quartz). Proceeds will benefit Butte CPR's many projects, most notably its Historic Improvement Project fund. While the funds raised will be a welcome assist, the principal reasons for the tour are to inspire people to purchase and restore historic buildings in Uptown Butte (now, together with Anaconda, the nation's largest National Historic Landmark District), to show what great results can be achieved while bringing an historic building back from the brink, and to meet the varied and wonderful people who enjoy doing it! Hopefully, tour attendees and volunteers will find a new neighbor!

Advance tickets are available at Cavanaugh's County Celtic (131 W. Park) after June 15. Tickets may also be purchased at the sites on the tour on the day of the event.
